Website of Author PETER BLACKMAN Have you read the new Thriller 'Danger at the EDGE'
I belive successful writing is about engaging with the senses and emotions of the reader. Afterall, how many books or articles have you read to the end when the contents didn't interest, excite or intrigue you?
Writing has always been of interest to me - ever since childhood. I finally became a 'full time' writer after having spent over 35 years working in global multi-national organisations on business growth, innovation and transformation.
Having travelled all over the world I have been privileged to encounter many fascinating people, places and cultures, as well as the occasional 'scary' situation. Besides drawing from everyday life and encounters, I will often use aspects from past experiences as ideas and inspiration in my writing.
The transition from Corporate life to that of a writer was an interesting adaptation - but I loved it. Having now written and published six books - several of which have reached the top ten bestseller listings for their genre on Amazon, I am already working on a few more. With ideas for many other exciting projects already in the pipeline, there is much more to come.
Receiving feedback is an important part of learning. This is no less important in writing than it is in any other aspect of professional or day to day life. I love to read comments on my work, positive or negative, and learn something from every one of them.
If you have read one of my books then please leave a review on Amazon. It is easy and quick to do and is always valued. Also, if you have any thoughts or ideas on future projects or stories you think I should consider working on, then I'd love to hear about them, so please let me know.
As well focussing on my own writing, I also enjoy using my creativity and business experience to help advise others.
One of my non-fiction 'Work in Progress' is writing a simple self-help book about how best to use creativity and innovation in building your own profitable business.
Successful writers share many of the same traits as successful entrepreneurs. It's often just knowing 'how' to adapt and apply those traits to building your business model that makes the difference between success and failure.
Knowledge has limits, imagination has none.
Creativity and innovation not only make life fun, but allow us to see things in wildly different ways - or through different 'Lenses' as the late Harvard Business School Professor Clayton Christensen would often say.
This applies in business as much as it does in leisure. In 2011 and 2013, as architect of and the worlds leading authority on disruptive innovation, Christensen was named as the 'Worlds Most Influential Business Management Thinker'.
My writing style combines reality with creativity to produce an engaging and immersive story line. Even in the Corporate world, using a story can be the most effective way to get a message across, understood and, most importantly, retained.
"If you can dream it, then you can do it," - Walt Disney
Stories constantly surround us in life... we can all Look, Listen and Learn from them.
